A'Lelia Bundles--author, Emmy-award winning television producer and former ABC News executive--is Madam C. J. Walker's great-great-granddaughter and biographer. Her nationally best-selling book, On Her Own Ground:  The Life and Times of Madam C. J. Walker, was a 2001 New York Times Notable Book and recipient of the Association of Black Women Historians Best Book of 2001. An engaging speaker, she has appeared at dozens of conferences and institutions including Harvard University, London's City Hall, the Israeli Presidential Conference, the National Archives, Spelman College, the National Association of Women Business Owners and the Center on Philanthropy. She has appeared on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” NBC’s “Today,” CBS’s “Sunday Morning,” NPR’s “Morning Edition” and “Fresh Air" and C-Span Book TV’s “Public Lives.” Her articles have been published in the New York Times Book Review, O (The Oprah Magazine), Essence and other national magazines. She currently is at work on the first major biography of her great-grandmother, A'Lelia Walker, a central figure of the Harlem Renaissance.



Entrepreneur, business coach, and author, Clara Villarosa opened The Hue-Man Experience bookstore in Denver more than two decades ago and later opened a second, enormously successful branch in Harlem. Far more than a bookstore, her New York opening was marked by attendance from Maya Angelou, Stevie Wonder, Ossie Davis, and Jay-Z among others.  A business coach, she has led workshops for countless clients and organizations. The recipient of more than thirty awards, including the National Minority Entrepreneur of the Year, she lives in Harlem, New York.
